What the title says: Is there a way to tag multiple cards in an existing folder at the same time?

I have a large folder of existing cards, and don't wish to individually edit each card.

Yes, if you select multiple cards an actions toolbar will appear at the bottom of the screen. One of the actions is "Change tags." From that menu you can add or remove tags and it will be applied to all of the selected cards.
